PASTOR JOHN COLLINS DAILY THOUGHT: WISDOM

From John Collins Ministries:

Biblical Wisdom vs. Biblical Knowledge

“Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet. She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors; ‘To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men. O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart.’” Proverbs 8:1-5 (NKJV).

There is a big difference between biblical knowledge and biblical wisdom. There are many people out there that can quote the Bible because they have memorized certain passages that further their points of view. There are many preachers out there that can speak with seemingly great amounts of biblical knowledge but the really smart person is a person that knows how to take that biblical knowledge and apply it to their lives and show that they have obtained wisdom.

Just knowing what God has said and what Jesus has said will do you not one bit of good if you do not obey them. Just knowing that there was an Exodus from Egypt will not do you any good if you are not willing to see yourself as the rebellious Israelite and alter your ways. Just knowing why Judah was removed from their land is not enough if you are not willing to see that denying God His honor and refusing to submit to His will is repeating the same mistakes.

The Bible is not just a story. It is not just history. The Bible is the word of God and it is our blueprint to life. The Bible is not ancient nonsense and it is not a book to just make us feel justified in our choices. The Bible is our instruction, our conviction and it is there to guide us to heaven.
Being able to repeat some bible verses does not make you a righteous person. Being able to use the bible to increase your wisdom and bring hope to another with the message of Christ is to seek to please the Lord. Being able to allow your heart to admit its flaws and to seek the forgiveness and lessons of the Lord is to claim Jesus as your Savior. Be willing to learn and grow in your faith as you seek to reach out for righteousness and you will come to know wisdom well.

“I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. Riches and honor are with me, enduring riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and my revenue than choice silver. I traverse the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, that I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.” Proverbs 8:17-21 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS DAILY THOUGHTS: THE GRUDGE HOLDER

From John Collins Ministries:

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew  6:14-15 (NKJV).

If anyone has read the Bible, gone to church to hear the gospel or been taught of our Lord Jesus Christ and has not realized yet that it is necessary to forgive others in order to obtain forgiveness, please keep reading.

Who do we think we are when we get hurt and become offended and our defenses go up and we become bitter and resentful of those who have crossed our paths and crossed us? Who do we think we are to withhold forgiveness from someone who has wronged us? Who do we think we are to expect what we are unwilling to give?

The Bible says that God makes the sun to rise on the evil and the good. We make the choice of which we will be. Why do we feel justified in holding on to our bitterness and anger, our grudges and resentments? Doesn’t anyone realize that forgiveness is for ourselves and not only the forgiven

These negative feelings lead to hatred, fights, killings, wars and death to our souls. What is the point of holding on to your self-justified sense of being right?

Who says that you need to have an apology given in order to return forgiveness?

It amazes me that people would harm their own souls for anger and hurt. I am amazed that people just don’t realize that forgiveness does not come from the Lord to us unless we are willing to offer forgiveness from us. Jesus said it Himself!!

The Bible says that we are to be holy as God is holy. It tells us to be Christ-like and Jesus said that He does what He has seen from His Father. We are to make the effort to obey them and to become righteous people. What purpose does holding on to some grudge serve any of us?

The Bible tells us that we all fall short of the glory of God but that does not mean that we do not obey God and make the effort to seek salvation with all of our hearts and souls. When we cannot let go of those past hurts and refuse to forgive those who have hurt us we are then killing our own souls.

Jesus was humiliated, beaten, had thorns thrust into His skull and the skin ripped from His body and had nails driven into His hands and feet. He was hung from that Cross and He did it for you. He said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” Luke 23:34 (NKJV).

How arrogant we are! Do we think that we are better than the Son of God, demanding retribution and apologies and vengeance, which is clearly the Lord’s? Does our pride demand that grudge, that justice that we feel is our right and our due? How can we feel that way when we have broken the commandments of God and deserve hell? How can we feel justified in our lack of forgiveness when we know in our souls that we have gone against the very laws of God and so many times we have done this deliberately? Are we so petty?

Look to your hearts people and let go of the ugly. Look deep inside and know that the truth is that withholding forgiveness means that you are not forgiven. We must get over ourselves. Life is more than offenses, victims and perpetrators. Life is making the choices that lead us home to heaven and our Lord. Life is letting go of what will not matter in the least once you are dead. Life is coming to know that the soul is more important than the body. Life is choosing Jesus over yourself.

“Then Peter came to Him and said, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.’” Matthew 18:21-22 (NKJV).

Pastor John Collins, Daily Thoughts: Strong Faith

Pastor John Collins:

Faith is believing without seeing, acting on belief without being able to put your eyes or hands on something viable.  Faith in God and belief in the words of the Bible and the stories within it are difficult because the world that we live in screams at us that it can’t possibly be truth, that there is no evidence.  There is evidence available to us every day, in the survival of trauma victims, in the healing of wounds, in the birth of a child, in receiving something that was needed but not know how it could possibly happen.  We don’t recognize the evidence now, any more than those people who have lived before us thousands of years ago.

Pastor John Collins, evangelist and head pastor of Love That Cross Ministries, has brought revival through his sermons and preaching around the country for many years.  His style of preaching makes the Word of God and the life of Jesus and His offer of hope and salvation simple to understand for us all.

Pastor John Collins brings us encouragement that God is not done with us, that He is very real, Jesus is very much alive and among us, and that there is Hope waiting for this world on His time.  Pastor John Collins says God wants the opportunity for all of his children, all of humanity, to know our God, to know our salvation, to know our Savior, Jesus Christ.  He wants us to know that we all have value.  That Hope will come, and the world will have the opportunity to understand true faith, not what man has created over the millennia to fill in the questions and blanks that each generation has struggled with from the beginning.

“God has created, given, blessed and warned us so many times and yet we get in our own way. Our pride keeps us from truly answering the call of God. There are divisions of belief and there are so many groupings of people who have decided that their way is the only way, their way is the best way and they live in that rigidity to their downfall” ~ Pastor John Collins.

Pastor John Collins writes:

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.  But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.  But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:35-37 (NKJV).

God is not done with us and our story as the people who were chosen to live on this planet is not over. What have we done, as a people, with the blessings and truth that has been provided for us? God has created, given, blessed and warned us so many times and yet we get in our own way. Our pride keeps us from truly answering the call of God. There are divisions of belief and there are so many groupings of people who have decided that their way is the only way, their way is the best way and they live in that rigidity to their downfall.

It is difficult when you cannot convince someone of the truth and simplicity of Jesus Christ. It is difficult when you look around and see so much misguided faith that came from so long ago and it is so ingrained in cultures that there seems to be no getting through. Faith in the work that was done on the cross is fading and faith in God Himself is fading in this world. That is why God is not done and that is why God will bring further revelations. God will step in and it will be up to this world whether they want to believe or not, whether they want to respond or not. It is time to wake up and to get right with God. It is time to acknowledge that this world is broken, Christianity is broken and we must have compassion for those who do not believe and may have different beliefs but our compassion for the souls of others must not include compromising our own faith. You must stand in your faith and know your truth. These are frustrating times because the shouts of the world are getting louder and many people who do not hold to what a Christian believes are demanding compromise and inclusivism which is denying the commandments of God. We must be willing to stand firm in our faith and to not waiver in our commitment to our obedience to God.

The day will come when your faith will be rewarded. Jesus said it would be tough because if the world hated Him for no reason then it was sure to hate His followers. We are not to repay evil with evil but to overcome evil with good. It is enough that you trust in the truth of the Holy Bible, the truth of God, and the truth of Jesus Christ. Do not be fooled into believing that all paths lead to heaven and take the time to know the scriptures and be comforted in the fact that God will not leave this world in the condition that it is currently in because He cares for His people and He knows His own. Be still and know that He is God and take the time to pray to Him, thank Him for all that you have, and make known to Him how much you love Him.

“The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation; the fear of the Lord is His treasure.” Isaiah 33:5-6 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, DAILY THOUGHTS: NAME IT, CLAIM IT

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST: PROSPERITY DOCTRINE OF ANOTHER COLOR

One of these days, we are going to have to come eye to eye with God and He is going to ask what did we do with the Grace that He gave us in the salvation provided by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  This is no fairy tale, this is not a bed time story, it is not a myth created to threaten children into behaving.  This is truth, this is our souls and our eternal life at stake.  Pastor John Collins of Love That Cross Ministries is up front and puts it right out there when he preaches from the heart and calls out the dilution of the Gospel when it’s presented in prosperity doctrine or other forms of false doctrines.  One of these false doctrines is the fad of “Name it Claim it”.  Faith is not a fad.  Salvation is not a fad.  God and Jesus are not fads, They have been around since the beginning of time, the Holy Bible says so.

“Name it Claim it” is promoted by the likes of Joyce Meyer, Paula White, Joel Osteen, T. D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar, John Grey and others, and is another false doctrine of prosperity doctrine.  If you can visualize something and call it out loud to God, He will provide you with what you ask for.  God is not in the business of giving us what we want, He is in the business of saving souls.  God demands humility.  For us to demand of God what we want will earn us a ticket to someplace we don’t want to be, and we are not going to be able to explain it away when we do meet Him face to face one day.  People don’t even recognize that what they are doing is actually offensive to God because they don’t know the truth of the Gospel and they don’t know the Holy Bible.

“There are many Christians that see no harm in a visualization board, affirmation clippings and scrapbooks of hopes that are created, kept and prayed over. What is wrong with picturing a better life for yourself, creating a visual focal point so that you can put out into the world your hopes and dreams and create for yourself the life that you desire? Many believe that you can state your claims out loud to God and He will answer your heart’s desire. That is your will, not His. As much grace as God is willing to provide, He is not in the business of granting wishes like some genie in the sky.” Pastor John Collins (March, 2018).

Pastor John Collins, evangelist, is the head pastor of Love That Cross Ministries and John Collins Ministries.  For the past decade, Pastor John Collins has been bringing God back to churches across the country, most recently through a true revival of faith and hope.  The Gospel has been so watered down that it seems that it is being fed like Koolaid to those who thirst for some kind of taste of God that will make them feel good.  Pastor John Collins is redeeming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, preaching the truth of the Word of God and His Son, Jesus Christ.  What is being preached from the pulpits in so many churches and other media venues is a feel-good, what people want to hear, not the truth that Jesus came to teach us over 2000 years ago, and the sacrifice of His human life is not even taught to congregations across this country.  Pastor John Collins preaches the truth of the Gospel with vigor and enthusiasm, he does not write what he preaches:  Pastor John Collins preaches from the heart.

Pastor John Collins writes:

“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:24-25 (NKJV).

Name it and claim it! There are many churches out there that have been peddling the law of attraction for some time now. There are many Christians that see no harm in a visualization board, affirmation clippings and scrapbooks of hopes that are created, kept and prayed over. What is wrong with picturing a better life for yourself, creating a visual focal point so that you can put out into the world your hopes and dreams and create for yourself the life that you desire? Many believe that you can state your claims out loud to God and He will answer your heart’s desire. That is your will, not His. As much grace as God is willing to provide, He is not in the business of granting wishes like some genie in the sky.

The challenge of being a true Christian in this life is to deny the passions of your flesh. That is what you fight against. Your flesh wants nice things, joy and happiness above all and most of all it wants validation for your importance and existence. People want success and recognition for their efforts and they want the paycheck that goes along with it. There are many that say to live your life to the fullest, claim your reward, allow God to do more for you than you realize was possible. God is in the business of saving souls, not making your dreams come true. God desires humility and not pride of life. People want to try this and that to make their lives better but do not even see when those things are anti-biblical because people don’t know the word of God.

This name it and claim it nonsense is of the new age church. There are many churches today that are introducing and blending pagan ideas and activities into their church, whether they realize it or not, which are contrary to true faith and genuine worship of the Father and the Son. Be careful of the influences that you allow into your life, your church and especially your home. Many Christians don’t know about the occult and those practices which makes it hard to rebuke when it enters your life and there are many of these that seem harmless enough but in reality all they do is undermine your beliefs. God has been fighting the evil practices since the beginning and many cannot see that it is nothing new but it is just updated and repackaged for this generation. Paganism and idolatry is an abomination to the Lord and you must be cautious and aware in what you allow to have influence over you. Hold tight to the doctrine of truth and let humility rule your life.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS DAILY THOUGHTS: LAZY FAITH

From John Collins Ministries:  “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in...
